Thank you, yes, I found that too. Nothing for 1901 census although I am fairly sure they were living there then. The Minnesota may be hit and miss - they weren't there for very long it seems, maybe a few years at most. I found a Hershorn family that may be right in the Quebec census too, spelled Horsehoren. I need to check the names with my mom but I think they may be cousins. Still, it lists the parents names which could give me something else to go on.

Census gave interesting info. I previously found naturalization records for David Dectar, showing he was naturalized in 1913, according to the census he was naturalized in 1900. Now I'm wondering if the first was a cousin or something (the character reference was signed by a Hershorn,can't imagine it's not part of the family).
