The name Ewan Onofrejiw is recorded on a deed for 161 acres in the Hyas area. He arrived with his wife in about 1899. They changed their name to Onofryton, and had seven children. Some remember the early name to be pronounced like "Onofrychuk." I cannot track the name Onofrejiw in transit to Canada or at an arrival. I'd like to know how they came, when they came, where they came from, and if there are other relatives who also made the trip.
