Bob
I was hesitating to answer your question hoping someone else with expertise would help you, but I will try (being on the boards since 2002).
There were many historical and demographical changes in the 1780-1870 period. Vital Acts were often performed outside of their district because of lack of priest or other. Ex: Born in Missisquoi and baptised in Vermont.
If you want people to easily access your chart, I would suggest
Establish the roots of the family (place of residence): Country, Province,County, City : Canada,Quebec,Missisquoi, Noyan (you can add Caldwell Manor at this point in brackets for time frame and historical purpose)
Then for individual records, which are BDM: Parish (if it exists) and Church: St. Thomas Anglican.
Ex: Sylvester P. Bullock
born: April, 14, 1834 , Clarenceville (Caldwell Manor in brackets if the registration says Caldwell), Misssiquoi Cty, Quebec, Canada.
Christening: Date, St.Armand, Missisquoi Cty, Quebec (name of Church is usually in the detailed version of each person)
Marriage: Date, Sutton, Missisquoi Cty, Quebec
Death: Date, Colchester, Chittenden Cty, Vermont (place of death and then place of burial if necessary if different)
It is your choice depending on the type of chart you use (concise or text), but be comfortable with it, so that if you go back to your data in 10 years, your records will be easily retrievable (Caldwell Manor will only be a memory but Noyan and Clarenceville still exist!). You can always have extra notes on the side for reference.
Hope I helped!
