I have several pages photocopied from a 1910 Toronto street atlas, most of District 128, Wards 3 and 4. I've studied subdistricts 33 and 37 (which are adjacent and maybe overlapping) , and yet find no Major St.
The Toronto City directories for that period had a section listing all the streets and their cross streets. I'd suggest you ask the Toronto Research Library or the Toronto Public Library <
http://www.tpl.toronto.on.ca/ask_adu_index.jsp> (are they the same thing?) to do a lookup for you, and find the location and cross-streets for Major St.
Good luck!
