What an excellent find! That certainly supports your theory that he was buried in St. Michael's cemetery. I was beginning to be afraid that the family had just buried him on the family farm, which would not have been normal for a good catholic family.
I will try to contact the church to see if they have any info about a burial mass (never thought of that, probably since I am not catholic and not familar with their practices) and if they know if he is buried in St. Michael's. I have found out that his son Lawrence and Lawrence's family are buried in St. Michael's but could not find Edward listed for that cemetery. He might well be buried there but without a marker.
