Re: response to Muggaberg query
Hi Patti
I too have the Muggabergs back to 1700's in Norway.
I would gladly pass along the photos I have. I am sure that I still have your address in my email.
Will look to see what I have scanned into the computer and what I have originals of. I will scan those and get them off to you.

Re: response to Muggaberg query
Patti, did your Great grandmother Margaret Corrigal ever remarry after George was killed? I was just asked that question, and I don't have a second marriage listed if she did.
Thanks susan

Re: response to Muggaberg query
Hi Patti, my great grandparents were Baikie Sinclair & Elizabeth Swain. I would love to know more about the Muggaberg side of the family. Have you been able to find out anything on Elizabeth Swain? I have hit a block wall. My grandfather was George Sinclair b. 1852. I have been told that Elizabeth was possibly married before Baikie and have also been told that Baikie had children proir to Elizabeth, very confusing. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Re: response to Muggaberg query
Hi Lou, I have very little information on Elizabeth Swain. The "Genealogy of the First Metis Nation" (Sprague) does not list her parent in Table 1 Genealogies of the Red River Households 1818-1870. I have had more luck with the Muggaberg line. Julius Sr. b 17 May 1832 Norway was the son of Jochum Pedersen Muggeberg b. 1791 (m. 25 July 1823 Oslo Domkirke) and Johanne Thorsdatter Fladebye. Johanne was the daughter of Thore Pedersen & Lisbeth Jensdatter. Jochum was the son of Peder Bendtsen Muggeberg b. 14 July 1753 at Kongsberg, Buskerud, Norway & Katrine Maria Jochumsdatter b. 1761. They married 11 Apr 1787 Kongsberg, Buskerud, Norway. Peder was the son of Bent Pedersen Muggeberg b. 30 Aug 1716 at Muggeberg, Sandsvaer, Buskerud, Norway and Berthe Marie Pedersdatter b. 11 Dec 1726 at Sandsvaer, Buskerud, Norway. Bent may have been the son of Peder Jakobsen b. Hedenstad, Sandsvaer, Buskerud, Norway and Trine Mari Jonsdatter. I don't think Bakie had children prior to Elizabeth/Isobel but can't prove it. He had a family while posted to Fort Churchill- was punished for bringing them to the fort when he was sent off to bring back partridges... (from the HBC journals) The applications for scrip do not mention a different mother for any of his children. Hope this helps, Pattie

Re: response to Muggaberg query
Thanks Pattie, did you make copies from the HBC journals, also I wonder what the time line was for him when he brought his family back to the fort? I have been to the archives on a few occasions however never enough time to spend there. I was told that Elizabeth Swain was married prior to Baikie but have yet to come across anything to confirm it. I was thinking that's why she is hard to trace. Once again thanks. Lou

Re: response to Muggaberg query
I took notes from the journals- at the time copies were not possible. I'll have to look back for those notes- it was a long time ago- and I'll be able to give you the timeline. The next time I go to Winnipeg I'll spend more time on those journals to see if I can find more

Does anyone have record of Catherine Muggaberg and Henry Folster's marriage? Also Catherine's parents, Julius Muggaberg and Isabella Sinclair's marriage?
