P.S. I remember visiting Grand Bend a couple of summers in the 1950s (the Everly bros were on the radio one time). My grandmother worked at the Imperial hotel that summer, I think. A few years later, Ronnie Hawkins played the hotel, perhaps through a connection with my aunt Dorothy, who was a good friend of Ronnie's girlfriend.
There were bumper cars and balmy beaches with deep red skies when the giant sun descended over the expanse of Lake Huron.

I was very disturbed to read this blog today. The statement, "I was told that Mary Margaret was a full blooded Cree." Who was the source of this statement? This statement is a slanderous statement. Slander is defined as"... the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation."

Mary Margaret's death certificate states she was White and of German descent. Since you have made this slanderous statement, why are you interested in her funeral card? The death certificate can be found on Ancestry.com. Are you related to Mary Margaret and why do you care? You want her funeral card however you do not know who she was. I am confused. Let me enlighten you with regard to my grandaunt.

Mary Margaret was the daughter of Jacob Heinrich(Henry) Rensch who was born in Nussloch, Baden, Germany and Margaret Gengler who was born in Useldange, Luxembourgh. They were my great grandparents. Mary Margaret was the eldest sister of my grandmother so you can understand why I want this statement removed from this blog. It is an incorrect statement. I have found the birth records of both my great grandparents in Germany and Luxembourg also my son did a DNA test and there is no Cree blood in Mary Margaret's mother's ancestry and their would definitely be none in her father's side since he was born in Germany. A statement made with supporting documentation is a fact a comment such as you made is incorrect and is not supported by fact.

By the way, Alfred Sidney Boysenberry was living in Alberta operating a hotel when he met my grandaunt who was working at the hotel. As you can imagine at that time, there were few places that a young lady could earn a living. They were married in Alberta and Alfred Sidney Boysenberry took her away from her family however she was in communication with my grandmother because my grandmother had pictures of Mary Margaret and her sons in front of the Parkhill, Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada Railway Station. There are more family pictures which were part of my grandmother's collection that my grandmother would share with me regarding her eldest sister and her sister's sons.

From the grandniece of Mary Margaret Rensch, wife of Alfred Sidney Bossenberry.
