My great grandfather, Donald Martin, was 3 years old in the 1861 Artemesia Census. He lived with his brother, John, sister, Barbara & mother, Effie. My gg grandather, Roderick Martin was not included in the census. Not sure why, except that he was a ships carpenter & I believe he went where the work was. Roderick (b.1829) was from the Stornoway, Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. I wonder if there is a connection with Alexander. (Effie was from the Isle of Mull - Inner Hebrides.)
