Hi,
Thank you. I found the info on Samuel Rogers and Agnes Nelson once before in familysearch.com that came from a DNA submission. The person who submitted the DNA submitted a tree with Samuel and Agnes as parents, but I think that person was incorrect. There was nothing to substantiate his claim to his tree. Samuel was born in Ireland, Agnes was born in Ontario; Orin stated on a census that his father was born in the USA and his mother was born in England. Also, both Samuel and Agnes had long obituaries in the Gananoque Reporter (they were wealthy) and neither obituary mentioned Orin as a son, though all the other sons were mentioned in both obituaries. Plus, Samuel and Anges' children were all successful businessmen or doctors and owned property; Orin was a blacksmith and rented--and the people who would have been his brothers did not rent to him. Orin happened to live within a quarter mile of Samuel and Agnes, so that's why I think this person came to that conclusion. There were two other Rogers males within a mile of Samuel, also not related, but they were renters like him. Thank you for sleuthing for me, you're a pretty good researcher! I just don't believe the familysearch data, so I'm looking for more proof. Thank you though. Your help really is apprecated.
