Here is a tidbit re:Elliott Pottery that I found last week while surfing the NET. I believe Aultsville is near the town of Gananoque.
We are indeed grateful to the estate of the late Donald and Wilda Stuart, and to Donald and Wilda themselves, for thinking of the Lost Villages Historical Society and Museum Villages Historical Society, at (613) 534-2423, with the recent donation received. Donald and Wilda were always so proud of their collection of Elliott Pottery, made in Aultsville, Ontario, and four pieces were donated to the society: a large earthenware bowl; a glazed, earthenware jar with lid; a large, unglazed, earthenware flowerpot; and a red/brown glazed, earthenware flowerpot, with pie crust edge.
My Elliotts came from Merton in Devon England some of them were shoemakers also, and worked for a Lord Clinton. Cheers
Jamie
