Hello Adele,

I asked my uncle about Aunt "Emma" and he said "Oh did I say Emma, her name was Ella." He also told me that she had first lived in Vancouver when she and her husband James Archibald Johnston came out to the west coast and then later moved to Victoria. This seems to confirm their identity although it would be nice to have birth records for them.

I will be engaging a professional genealogist to search for birth records for the children of Thomas Johnston at some point and if they find anything I will post this information here.
