Further research suggests that Alexander Cameron and family settled on Sir William Johnson's Kingsborough Patent with rent due date of 25 Sept 1778 , in a grouping that came from Scotland in 1774 . My Peter Grant KRRNY was in this same grouping and he settled Lot 10 Front Charlottenburg shared with Kenneth McDonell .
There are 4 Alexander Cameron listed in Gavin Watt's 1984 book KRR NY . One of these seems to have been married to a Margaret McDonell .
I did not find a Hugh or Ewen McDonell on Kingsborough Patent rent roll , but he may have still been living with his parents [yet to be determined] .
