Good write up Jay. However some corrections.
John Grant, Duldreggan and children came out on the ship 'Philadelphia'. I found this quite by accident. This 'Philadelphia' was the first US ship to dock in an UK port after the "cessations of difficulties" in the former colonies. Ship could not make it into the Gulf of St Lawrence and therefore went to New York Harbour and up the Hudson River to Albany. People came over land from Albany to Montreal the next winter. I believe a Mr Cochrane was the Captain.
The idea of people being in Philadelphia is only written in the book 'Shadows of Tradition."
