Hi Guys . J. Young here , just doing a bit of clean up on these old postings . To my knowledge Ann is correct on where John Duldreggan Grant settled , but he arrived in 1786 and probably did NOT receive UEL status . The Alexander Alex Grant found in the 1851 Census , and noted by Ann as beinging 95 years old [he was John Duldreggan Grant's eldest Natural son who lived with same all his life], was NOT married to Ann McKay , he was married to Ann /Nancy McDonell [she was daughter of Donald McDonell KRRNY killed circa 1777 as result of beinging wounded at Fort Stanwix in REV War] . This Ann /Nancy McDonell Grant applied for and received land grant as daughter of said Donald McDonell UEL , and her children were also UEL . Note: John Duldreggan Grant had TWO sons named Alexander [the younger lived at L'Original Ont] .
