Hi JOY.I believe ALEXANDER GRANT [came to Canada with his father John Duldreggan Grant, circa 1785/86] married ANN/NANCY McDonell[who's father Donald McDonell was killed at Fort Stanwix NY 1777 in the REV. WAR].Their oldest son ANGUS born 1791, baptised St. Andrews Presbyterian WILLIAMSTOWN[later came to own LOTS 7,8,9,10 SSRR Indian Lands].Alexander and his father John settled on Lots 25 & 26,South Side Raisin River[on the STREET ROAD].However, a NOTE to all those reading these POSTS.If you suspect that your guys came with SIR John Johnson;look at McNiff's MAP 1786.You can also check out the BELDAN ATLAS 1862.Be CAREFUL.These maps are 76 years different. Everyone listed on McNiff's is dead by the time BELDAN is printed. Also many settlers were given more than one plot ,so their name may appear more then once, but they only lived at one place at a time. Also, over time, the local registry office has altered the LOT and CONCESSION numbers; [I have a cousin who's STREET ROAD property has at least 3 different title LOT and CONCESSION descriptions].Also, most of the GRANT and many of the other UEL were KIRK of SCOTLAND PROTESTANT when they arrived here, but may have married into other religions[I.E.Roman Catholic]over time.
