My Son attended high school with a couple of Bomberry Boys. I live in Hamilton Ontario not far from Cheif Joseph Brants home in "Nelson's Square" aka Burlington Ontario.

I am a Distant relative of theirs. My Wifes family married into the Lotteridge and Freed-Kerr families. I am disantly (Very) related to the GAGE and Reverend Peter Jones side of the Tree which includes the Johnsons. All related to BRANT.

It is the Johnsons that I am trying to connect right now. I am missing a Core piece of evidence that a "Cut Nose" Johnson a Mohawk Chief buried in Fort Erie is indeed GEORGE JOHNSON son of William of Canajohari who was WITH your WILLIE family in Black Rock. That is how I spotted your Querry.

Yes I agree Indian Marriages were difficult to prove. I can trace my family with certainty to Benjamin Atwell who married an UNNAMED WOMAN called MARY in 1664 but there is NO Marriage Record. "Mary Now My Wife" on a deed is all I have to prove she was the daughter of Attawan(Hood) 3rd son of Uncas the Mohegan Sachem. The Land deeded to the "Children of Attawanhood" was partly purchased with a indenture ot TOM INDIAN whom I suspect was Tocmocham the Grandfather of Samson Occom (Rev. Samuel Occum) who later tutored Cheif Joseph Brant at Wheelocks School in Connecticut.

I am also a distant relation to James Fenimore Cooper by marriage and it was Cooper who excersized his DEAMONS about stealing his land from Col. Croghan who was married to a BRANT and made the "Indians Dissapear" in the minds of America.

So now you KNOW THAT I KNOW your related to BRANT because I know where your From.
