Hi Pat....several Simpsons....Alexander, Israel, James, John and Obadiah....no Simsons.

Obadiah is listed as of the Township of Adolphus in the Midland District..."In 1796, the Midland District, earlier called the Mecklenburgh District, comprised Frontenac, Lennox and Addington and Prince Edward Counties, and the southern part of Hastings County. In 1792 it also included a group of Islands in Lake Ontario near the St. Lawrence River which were called Ontario County which was created from York County in 1851. The southern boundry of the Midland District was Lake Ontario, the Ottawa or Grand River was the northern boundry. In 1792 Kingston became the district town of the Midland District.". Roll of the Inhabitants of the Midland District in the Province of Upper Canada who adhered to the Unity of the Empire and joined the Royal Standard in America before the Treaty of Separation in the year 1783. Taken in open Session held at Kingston October 11, 1796". Alexander was in Kingston; Israel was in part of Marysburg; John Marysburg and a note that Israel and John were discharged British Soldiers? All of these towns were in the Midland District. No other info but perhaps some clues there to search further....Good luck....Lora
