I did go page by page, and learned SO much about the area and who lived there. In my case, I knew that some of my Crowleys were born in Kingston, and I knew some of their birthdates. I went to the register and was thrilled to find the exact record of it, as recorded by the priest. From that point, I would guess at the birthdates, marriage dates, confirmations and burials. I found MANY new relatives. They mostly had children each year. The other cool things was to be able to see who the sponsors were and who the parents were and where they were from. I kept of record of the image number where I found records. I use it all the time. Even found two more children of my 2xgr grandparents that I didn't know about -- just by turning pages.
Since this was the RC church, everything happened there and is recorded.
