Hello Debbie, from the small amount of research i've done so
far, the DICKS name comes from England, and some of them
came to Newfoundland in the 1700's as fishermen.There are
over 200 with the DICKS surname in Newfoundland today. Some
of the early family went to Ontario, Canada and on to the
US after that(in the 1880's) Check NFLD genealogy sites.TG
