Eleanor Whitford & Peter Henderson was my wife's 2x great grandparents. They lived in Portage La Prairie. They had a son Peter who married Anne Marie Halcro. They had a son George who was Rosemarie's grandfather! She would appreciate any info regarding the Whitfords, Hendersons, and / or Halcros.

The Winnipeg Tribune (Winnipeg, Manitoba) – 17 Sep 1902, Wednesday – Page 10
Amidst every sign of regret, the remains of the late Mrs. Peter Henderson, Sr., one of the pioneers of this district, were laid at rest in the Anglican cemetery on Sunday afternoon last at Portage la Prairie.

There was a large attendance at the funeral and an impressive service was performed by rev. D. MacMorine, rector of Portage, and Rev. A. C. Garrioch, rec tor of the River church.

The pallbearers were all old residents of the district and included the following: W.W. Miller, Mr. Stoke, T. Anderson, P. Sinclair, A. M. Romez and Archie Smith, of Winnipeg, who attended to pay his last respects to his relative.

Mrs. Henderson, who was in her 79th year, had been married 59 years and her husband survives her. She leaves a large family to mourn their loss, and more especially in St. Andrew’s and Selkirk where the family formerly resided.

The floral tributes were numerous and handsome.
