I'm wondering what area of Manitoba this Hartgrave family may be from. Barbara HARTGRAVE (maybe nicknamed Phoebe?) was born March 1852 and married David Alger VARNER (born in Pennsylvania) about 1883. They migrated to Kalispell, Flathead County, Montana, about about 1894 or so. They had six children, at least five of them were girls. It is possible that Barbara was Indian. It appears that Barbara died before 1930 in Kalispell. I belong to the VARNER-L and the VARNER-John-Mary-Bitz-L. Thanks much.
