There was a long hard fight=by many people for a number of years -letters, Petitions etc -before we were finally able to get access to the 1901 Census [the chief statistician at that time had a different opinion of what is allowed] It was finally released well after the 92 years. Many Volunteers transcribed before it went online. Same for 1906

Unfortunately - we do not have free online access to the 1916 Census for Canada. That can be obtained through Ancestry - for a fee. Some public libraries subscribe - and we can search that venue.

Some Provinces have made their Vital Records available - but there is a different time frame re privacy for each Province. BC allows access to view, transcribe at no copy at the cost of copy machine. Marriage 1859-1934 - Death 1872-1989 - Births 1872 -1903 *Because fo privacy concerns for those now living beyond 100 yeas - access to birth info is restricted to the 121st year. [and I need them for 1915 & 1917] By the time those ara available - our family history book - will not be seen by family now in their 70's 80's
