Hi,
To find the legal land location of a place in Alberta
http://ab.canadagenweb.org/alberta-info-placenames.htmlBruce Alberta 30-48-14-w4;
There is a local area history book called "Hurry to Bruce", however do not see the surname Bakay (or other spelling) in the index. (I have the index on hand)
Some book indexes are at
http://ab.canadagenweb.org/lhb/index.htmlThere are over 1500 Alberta local area history books, so the indexes at this site are a small portion of those available.
Go to the Provincial Archives of Alberta Hermis website at
https://hermis.alberta.ca/paa/ and type
TP.47 RGE.15 exactly that way.
A few homestead maps will come up - the one that is the most informative - GR2004.0214.1072a
It has the homesteaders names in it. That might help.
If you can't find the family name of who you are looking for in this section, switch up your search terms for the next township (or range) and have a look at the names mentioned on them.
If you need assistance with genealogical research, feel free to contact the Alberta Genealogical Society
