Thank you for responding. I am attaching their two passenger / arrival lists.
He sailed on the Graf Waldersee and she sailed on the Blucher.
His says he is Polish from Austria, hers says Ruthenian or Galacian. Over the years and different census documents they are Austrian, Russian, Polish, you name it.
I am not basing their brother/sister connection on only the same last name/residence. My mother remembers "Aunt Martha" very well, and Porfiro or Peter is my grandfather. The two of them are buried in adjoining plots in the same Ukrainian Orthodox cemetery (my mother, who is still alive and very much "with it" at 91, attended both of their funerals.
Family lore has it that these two sailed to the US and brothers sailed to South America. Porfiro changed his name to Peter Pawluk (unofficially) - the birth certificates of my aunts/uncles have Pawlusyk crossed out and Pawluk handwritten in.
