I am having a hard time finding information on the Hamadey and Blossey Famlies.
My 2nd Great Grandfather John Hamadey(Jan Hamadej or Janos Hamadej; Hamaday) Birth 16 Aug 1888 in Sobrance, Austria-Hungary Death 23 Jul 1951 in Erie, Erie, Pennsylvania. John married Marian Marguerite Blossey Birth 28 Mar 1891 in Erie, Erie, Pennsylvania Death 16 Jun 1980 in Santa Rosa, Sonoma, California.. John and Marian had a daughter Marian Elizabeth Hamadey Birth 1 Dec 1908 in Sheffield, Warren, Pennsylvania Death 25 Dec 2001 in Fairfax, Fairfax, Virginia, United States.

John Hamadey and Marian Marguerite Blossey were married in 1907 15 May in Sheffield, Pennsylvania, John was 18 Marian was 16.

Does anyone know where I can find more information on the Blossey and Hamadey Families?
Should I search Slovakian or Austria-Hungary genealogy records?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sobrance
Sobrance (German: Sobranz, Hungarian: Szobránc) is a town in Košice Region, Slovakia, around 15 kilometres (9 miles) from Uzhhorod, Ukraine, and 22 kilometres (14 miles) east of Michalovce. Located in the Eastern Slovak Lowland not far from the Vihorlat Mountains, it is the easternmost town in Slovakia.

I know the Blossey family may not be from Slovakia, but I thought it would be easier to create a post asking about both the Blossey and Hamadey families instead of creating a separate post for both surnames.

Sorry if any of the below and above information do not match up. I am getting conflicting information from familysearch.org, ancestry.com, and my relatives. I will edit the information accordingly to what I find. Hopefully get this mess straightened out.

Jan Hamadej/John Hamadey/Reynolds born 16 Aug 1888 in Sobrance Austria-Hungary/Czechoslovakia and died 23 Jul 1951 in Erie Pennsylvania. Departure port Le Havre arrival port New York Ship Name Lafayette. Occupation: Labour. Possibly lived in Canada for awhile. Marriage to Marian Marguerite Blossey. Children Marian Elizabeth Wensinger (Hamadey), John Edward Hamadey Jr (Married Cathrine Kundla), and Stephen Joseph Hamadey (married Beverly Mary Parsons.)
Marriage to Mary Paulocsik. I think might be Marian Blossey with a different name on record.

To answer whomever asked about John Hamadeys religion I think his family is possibly, not 100% sure, Jewish.

I found this http://www.wwiimemorial.com/registry/search/pframe.asp?Honor...

I found
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MFB2-TTJ
Citation
"United States Census, 1920," index and images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MFB2-TTJ : accessed 09 Sep 2014), John Hamadey in household of Mike Hamadey, Erie Ward 2, Erie, Pennsylvania, United States; citing sheet 11B, family 196, NARA microfilm publication T625, FHL microfilm 1821565.
I think John Hamadey lived there with his kids Mary, John, and Steven. They are listed as boarders, not sure if they are related.

To make things even more complicated
I also found some last names that could be alternate spellings of hamadey: Hamadej, Hamadejova, Hamada, Hamadeh, Hammond, Hamady, Hamaday.

Steve added Reynolds as an alternative name for John Hamadey. Now I don't know if I should search for John Hamadey or John Reynolds. I will try Reynolds to see what I turn up.
