I see that!! Very exciting to know the family may still have some members over there!!
Anyone know what the apostrophe in the middle of the name indicates? I also saw that the oldest sister, Agata, is listed with the last name Groniski on the manifest, and wondered if that might have something to do with the apostrophe and pronunciation.
Agata came thru NY and was headed to Philadelphia to join a cousin, Jan Gotebiowski, but so far I haven't been able to find any info on that person here in the US. Who knows how THAT name might have been changed or misspelled over here!! What's nice is that Helen's ticket was bought by Julia, and Julia's ticket was bought by Agata, so it draws a nice connection there.
I think the next step is to head to one of the Family History Centers around my area, and see if I can track down some more info....looks like the records I need are only on microfilm.
If I can get some more info confirming names, birthdates, etc. then hopefully I'll be able to expand the family tree a bit more down that branch!
Gotta find somewhere to park my kids though....I don't think this research will be a toddler-friendly activity!!
