I have a Great, Great Aunt whos Maiden name she says was something like Hamerschmidt. Her first name is Karolina & she says that she had two daughters. We have a Displaced Persons id card of hers which says she was born in a town called Taugowka (Typed) Russia but written over with Poland.
I dont know if she was any relation to you? ?
