Thanks! Now I have some clues where to look. I didn't know but strongly suspected that those baptism records Tree Poster assigned to Wendel & Julia Szabo were potentially off. I would have looked for their baptism records near to where I last saw evidence of the people in question. I know people did occasionally move about for work or the like but figured there might be patterns to such movements a seasoned Hungarian genealogy researcher, such as yourself, would know. I do not know about Hungarian genealogy but do know in the places with which I am familiar most ordinary rural people remain within a 15-20 mile radius of where they were born in the late 19th C. unless there are some better job or land acquisition opportunities elsewhere. I have little confidence in death certificate informant's memories depending on how old the person was at death and what relationship the informant had with the decedent. My grandmother was older than my grandfather and her age is misrepresented as younger on all her census records. I'll go back and see what the U.S. records may indicate about Julia Szabo ms Kovacs' age in relation to her husband and to her "breeding years" but I believe you are correct. When I get time, I'll see if I can find a sib who also immigrated with a matching baptism in the same parish. While I'm being a pest...I have another question. I'll post it separately.
