By the way Robert, at the time (early to mid 1700's) was this area just as culturally/linguistically diverse? Were the folks in this area German? French? both? Speak both languages etc? I'm curious if the Aron family I'm researching was likely of French or German descent...any guess? Thanks for all your help!
