I am related to a Friedrich Kuhlow (b. 1819) who was born in Mecklenburg and came to the Detorit area some time in the 1870's. He was married to Wilhemine Voigt (Minnie). They lived on Maple Street with their daughters Mina, Augusta, and Henrietta. Henrietta married a Schmitt while still in Mecklenburg.

I can give you more relations if this sounds like it fits. My Friedrich was a milkman in Detroit in the 1880's. I see there was also a younger Fredrick Kuhlow who was a cigar manufacturer at the time.
