For some reason I have some notes in my family's history about the Staley family of Randolph County, N.C.
My notes say that both Martin Staley (sometimes spelled Stealey) and Coonrod (Conrad or Conrade) Staley owned 225 acres and 125 acres respectively (on Stinking Quarter Creek). They are also listed on the 1785 tax list, the 1790 first federal census and the 1815 tax list

Also according to my notes Conrade Staley is a native of Germany, born 4/25/1736, died 5/31/1816. On March 16, 1762 he married Barbara Huver.
