This takes a bit of an explanation. A group of colonists from Schriesheim, outside of Heidelberg, came to Pennsylvania Colony aboard the William and Sarah in late September 1727. It isn't clear whether the people came as a group under a certain pastor or whether they came individually--so that is one question outstanding. As many of the listers know, in some circumstances, one had to apply & pay a fee to emigrate -- leave -- one's home place. There are in Karlsruhe certain records regarding these individuals, and the archivist has kindly sent me some pages regarding them. I wish to find out exactly, precisely, what is said on the two pages, and especially how certain surnames are spelled. In some cases, I understand the record tells the the town as well as the individual's name, also perhaps family members. Please let me know if it would be of any help in reading this to also post an anglicized list of the surnames. I would rather not post the pages here, but if you will share your email with me, I can send them to you directly. Thank you for your help!
