As I was reading through a book on the Klimpels, I came across this intriguing paragraph:

My mother, Anna Engel, came to America when she was 16 years old. Her father was murdered in Germany and Bertha (Zeidler) Klimpel was instrumental in getting Grandma Mathilda Engel and her three youngest daughters, Minna, Anna and Emma, to come to the United States.

I was interested how little they said about her father and his murder. If anyone knows about this murder, please share. I am more than willing to try to help with information about the rest of the family.
