Hi Claudia, Thanks so much for your inquiry. Yes, this is the Albert Gloetzel I am researching. Amelia (Mele) was a daughter of Albert Gloetzel and Kerlein (Karoline) Bauer. Kerlein is name listed on marriage record. Married 19 Mar 1879, Shelby Co. Ia. Albert Born 7 Apr 1856. Died 1936. Family lore says he immigrated as a stowaway and census records 1900 and 1910 say this was in 1873. Karoline born 4 Jul 1859, Bavaria, Germany She died 9 Mar 1940 in Royal, Ia. They are buried at the Riverside Cemetary, Spencer, Clay, Ia.
Sec. 13 Sp. 28 & 29. Her birth certificate State of Illinois, County of La Salle, Peru Registration # 3-11764 lists Emelia Glotzel Feb. 4, 1888.. Father Albert Glotzel, Mother Cariline Bairner, Physician Midwife Amalia Gothe. Signed Mar. 1, 1888. There were 13 children. Mathilda, George, Albert, Josephine (Josie), Stephen,Thersea (Tess), Emilia,John Albert, Martin (Marty),Marie (Mary), Joseph (Joe), Wendell (Wendy),Walburga, Karoline (Carrie). All born Peru,Il. After the death of Amelia's first husband, she married William Kilmer,in 1915. Three siblings Marcella 1916, Jerome, Jan 1918, Jerry. You didn't say what your husband's families name is.
