Yes...it IS mysterious; to say the least. I am very appreciative of your interest. Thanks a million for the input, info and links.
No, I have no clue about George Adam's parents, but from the confirmation we see they came about 1749 to Nova Scotia then 1765 to PA.
Here's more...but I've hesitated to say it because it is questionable: There are some family stories that say that the wife who came over and disclosed poor ol' Joseph's secret gave his name as Stormer...but I've kept that name on a back burner while I do further Kellenberger and Killenberger research.
I do know that Barbara Schorr, whom Joseph married, was from Hosterhof in the Saarland (Uchtelfangen, Illingen, district Ottweiler, County Trier). A Schorr I talk to who still lives there says Kellenberger (and var. sp.) are not common there. He's checking into them further for me.
He tells me that the K-arger variation is non-existant in Germany and that Kellenberger and Killenberger are the most common ones that have the same "roots".
There are two family groups who took the spelling K-arger here in America and neither can trace back to the immigrant...which is another reason I'm working so hard on GAK.
Rick.
