There are two cities I am researching: Steinach and Rettenbach (also known as Schonach). Steinach is just outside the modern area of Oberpfalz and the other is inside.

Does anyone know:
1. the meaning of any of these names?
2. if either of these cities was called Creutz-Steinach or Greutz-Steinach in thier history - at least in the mid-late 1700s?
3. the meaning of Creutz, Greutz or Steinach?
