Celestine registered for the Civil War draft, but there's nothing to say he served. Ancestry also has some land records for him, but they had no additional information.

He appears in the 1880 census in Oak Park, MN as "Alistine Feis". Frances is listed as born in Minnesota with her parents from Baden.
