According to the manifest, it appears that Slovak was the language spoken.

Also on the manifest, his name is spelled Antonin Vdovec. It then changed when he married my grandmother, to Vodvec, then changed once again in my family to Vodovec.

However, the manifest also states that Antonin was already married. This is what is says under the category, as the relationship to a person from the country which they came from "Wife - Anna Vdovec Lublella zupa X1X Czechoslovakia". Not quite sure what Lubella zupa X1X mean, so I will look into it to see if it's a county or something. This got me thinking and questioning, that maybe he married my grandmother without ever telling her that he was already married in CZ or Anna either died or divorced him, which was uncommon back then? I will check this out as well.

I'm also going to try to order birth certificates for Antonin and everyone else I have on my list. It's my hope that this will reveal information I don't have.

Do I sound like I don't know what I'm doing..lol I'm trying to understand and follow the leads I'm given but as some people say, it starts with location, location, location. I wish I had one to go on. I'm still talking to family to see what they remember and they are quite patient with me on this and they're trying.
