Classification: Query
Surnames: BILLENSTEIN, BROOM, BRINTON
I am not of this family. However, when I looked for them in Google Books, I found a snippet: "Immediately before the 1848 slave revolt in St. Croix, Bentzon relocated his ...
at the wedding were Charles and Sara Billenstein, also from St. Croix." Thought that might be a lead for you. Perhaps you can tell which church/synagogue.

Also, there is a book entitled Delaware Genealogical Abstracts from Newspapers-Delaware Marraiges and Deaths from Newspapers 1729-1853: by Mary Fallon Richards, John Cadwallader Richards. On page 28 is an entry: Broom, Jacob, see Billenstein, Jacob T., see Brinton, Jacob, Capt. and also Broom, Mary S., see Billenstein, Jacob T. The page with BILLENSTEIN is not part of the book preview, but you can find what library has the book through worldcat.org.

Hope this is helpful.
