I just arrived at this point in my family research, and I wonder if any of the original posters in this thread are still about. I've found some useful information on some tourism and history sites of Barbados. One presentation, available as both a pdf and a ppt, is an overview of sugar and slavery. It includes a hand-drawn map with many names of English land owners. Has anyone seen this map with the edges not cropped to fit the presentation? A transcript would also be a nice resource; names are written at various angles and sometimes hard to read. Bulkeley Plantation is still producing sugar, and it's on maps of good hiking locations.
