Thank you for the information. I will let our cousins in Australia know. I wonder how far back the Marchant family was there. We know that my husband's ggg grandfather was born in North Carolina about 1766. His father was John Marchant. We know that he died shortly after 1805 in Georgia and that he lived in North Carolina at least by 1766 but where the family was before that is the question. They could very well have been in Antigua, perhaps coming from France by way of England at some time. I have also seen the Marchant surname in Massachusetts but none of the given names were present in our Marchant line. One of the names in this listing is curious. Dr. Morgan Branen Marchant. We know that one of John Marchant the elder's sons given name was Bryant. Other's were John, James & Isaac. The given name Bryant is closer to Branen than some of the Massachusetts given names. Thanks again for the info.
