My ggrandfather was James MacDonald or McDonald, 1840-60 thought to have come to Canada with the Hudson Bay co. and served in Canada and the Oregon territory. Some say he was from the western Isles of Scotland. At least one of his wives was Belinda Gardener or Gardner and one of his sons was Clinton ( my grandfather) b 1866,Marshall MN,d Seattle, WA 1948.
