heheheh....Yes... the Bolt is a rare name and I have established that my wife's ancestor is indeed the first bolt in Perthshire and he galloped up with the 4th Hussars in 1866ish. Was promptly done for desertion for running off to marry Betsy - 2 half months in the clink and a loss of 8 years pension - hope she was worth it! I found Thomas William bolts discharge papers at Kew grdens... great stuff.

I think the Fergussons were possibly from out of town though not sure. But the information you have on the other lines and the plan of Perth would be very much appreciated. The more lines I have to investigate the better. Stops me spending money on computer games "antiques" from Ebay so my wife will thank you for it.
