Marilyn, my name is Paul MacDonald. My grand father John "Jack" Archiebald MacDonald was the younger brother of Angus MacDonald who married Mary Ann Gilles. The Gilles family, as you might know, came from Nova Scotia (according to my notes) to Bruce County near Teeswater Ontario Canada, where they, along with my family, had a family farms near each other. I suspect that the family had ties all the way back to Scotland.
In your request, you mentioned Agnes instead of Angus, so I think that was a typo.
In my notes, Angus b1847, d1901 married Mary Ann Gilles b1847, d1905. My records show Mary Ann's parents to be John Gilles and Mary MacDonald. I have nothing on Mary MacDonald and very little detail. John's parents were shown to be Angus Gilles and Mary McMaster. I have little information on them as well. My focus was not particularly on the Gilles family or their spouses, so I do not have any information on Mary Campbell. I would like to see what the newspaper article had to say as it might have a clue to some of my relatives. I was always trying to connect the Gilles and the MacDonald's back to the Knoydart area in Scotland.
My email address is

Thanks
