Thanks for getting back to me. Your information was quite interesting; however, I had come across it all during my search for further information on the Clementina....

I have a handle of the American context for Scottish immigrants; the Scottish and Scot-Irish context for emigrants during the latter half of the 1700s; and the Lovat Estates context for people being listed as coming from Beauly prior to being transported to Stornoway and then off to Philidelphia via a short stop in Ireland.

What I'm after is more information on the ship, The Clementina, and its passage from Stornaway to Phili....

But thanks, anyway for what you posted. One of these days, someone will be able to put a book together on this voayage much like Donald MacKay's book on the Pearl, "Scotland Farewell - The People of the Hector".
