In researching my 5th great grandmother, Catherine Blue, I came across the following information which may be of some help to you.
1.Kenneth BLACK, b:abt 1730, Isle of Jura, married Kate Patterson and settled in Moore County (then Cumberland) NC. He was a Loyalist and was murdered in 1781. Kate died abt 1821.
2.John Black Sr, b: abt 1755, Isle of Jura, married Flora Patterson.
3.John Black Jr married Effie Blue, daughter of Duncan BLue and Margaret Campbell.
(Duncan Blue, b:1734, Isle of Jura, Argyllshire, Scotland, died in 1814 in NC. Margaret Campbell was born 1740, North Knapdale, Kintyre Penninsula, Argyllshire, Scotland and died in 1820, Moore County, NC).
4.Children of John and Effie Blue Black:John Blue Black,, Duncan Blue Black,, Daniel Blue Black,, Mary Black, marreid John Malcolm Currie,, Margaret "Peggy" Black,, and Flora Elizabeth "Betty" Black.
