I am trying to track down the origins of Daniel Kavanagh, who migrated to Australia in 1858 with his wife and eight children.

Family oral history says they came from the "Sweet Vale of Avoca" (one descendent called her house Avoca because of this belief) but I haven't found any evidence to support it. Then again, I haven't found any evidence to discount it either.
