Patrick Conlan is a very common name in Kildare. My grandmother was a Conlan and she had a "Patick" in every generation. Check out the Conlans from Brownstown Co Kildare. Common family names were Maurice, Dominick, Mary Ellen and Patrick. Did any of those names make it into your family. There are other families and they had different names used each generation. Kildare is a really nice place (we still live in same place as ancestors 200 years on!). The famine killed 1 in 10 people in Kildare which wasnt bad at all. 1 in 2 died in Leitrim so we were spared. The land is good and the landlords weren't bad around here. Awful to think of people being forced to leave. Hope your search has been fruitful and that you havent given up.
