John Dooley b 2/23/1827 in Westmeath Ireland died at Fonda, IA 10/2/1912 at age 85. Came to America in 1853 locating in Maryland working in Iron Industry. Moved to Ohio where he met & married Ellen Riley(Married 5 Sep 1856 in Ironton, Lawrence Co., Ohio)moved to PA and then Rockford, IL for farming. Moved again to IA in 1870 -in 1887 moved to Fonda where he died.

He and Ellen had 11 kids: 6 sons & 5 girls - two died before he - Katie -Mrs. James Bell died in 1894 and Julia the youngest child died in infancy.
