Annette, I appreciate your attempt to offer me assistance. I don't understand why FamilySearch.org is so often recommended but I haven't found it overly accurate. I appreciate the references you offer but do note that civil records for Ireland 1864-1950 are worthless- my family left Ireland in 1849. I've been thru Griffith's Valuation. There are tithe applotments for a Catherine Battersby, but there is no other information attached to them, only a date, hence I have no clue which Catherine Battersby they might be for. I need more information and a location for her.
